Christmas in Belize

CHRISTMAS IN BELIZE !!

Total Cost of ADO Bus: $ 90.00
Both round trip cost.
St. Louis -> Baltimore -> Cancun

If you have ever considered traveling to Belize, Central America and you love a great travel adventure this may be the trip for you! or if you are from Belize and the price of airfare have been keeping you away from home this is for you as well. I absolutely love going home, but as a university student travel can get very expensive. So I have found a fun and safe alternative to combat the ridiculous airfare. Cancun!. I traveled home for 10 days to visit family and friends for under $600 dollars, while airfare directly to Belize from St. Louis for my exact dates were more than $1300 round trip. The quick videos and images documented my trip home. If you have any questions or comments please place them down below and I will absolutely help in anyway I can.

This quick video was taken in BWI Baltimore's main airport, where I had two hour layover from St. Louis MO.

After what felt like a quick flight we made it to Cancun, Mexico. After departing the Southwest Airline we boarded a bus for a quick ride to the main airport to customs.

After you clear customs (which is very confusing process of winding lines) you will see this ADO booth ahead.

The only way I know how is to purchase your ADO bus ticket when you arrive at the Cancun, there are ADO ticket booths in both terminal 2& 3, which is where most international arrivals happen. At that ADO booth you will purchase tickets to the main bus terminal downtown Cancun and then on to Belize or Chetumal which ever is available.

ADO Bus Lines has daily Express bus service from Cancun to Belize City.  The bus departs the Cancun Bus terminal at 10:15pm, and drives south along the Yucatan with one stop at Playa Del Carmen and then into Belize City for 9:00am at the Novello's Bus Depot which is the main bus terminal in Belize City.
¨Departs from Cancun bus terminal daily at 10:15 pm with stops at Playa del Carmen (11:40 pm), Tulum (12:45 am), Corozal District Belize and Orange Walk District, then on to Belize City.
Fares to Belize (Jan 2013):
MX$496 from Cancun
MX$460 from Playa
MX$400 from Tulum
** Do not be afraid to ask for these prices in US dollars to make it easier for you.
Trip time: 8:10 hours from Cancún
The return bus, departs Belize City at 7:30 pm, with a stop in Orange Walk and Corozol, then into Mexico.  Again, the bus stops in Playa Del Carmen, and arrives into the Cancun bus terminal at 7:00am.
There are other buses from ADO that run between Cancun and Chetumal Mexico, with all stops in between.  However, this bus service from Cancun to Belize City is considered one of their express services with much fewer stops.
The ADO Belize-Mexico runs are every day of the week.
Passengers MUST present valid passports before boarding bus.
ADO website www.ado.com.mx ( which is not of much help, but hey feel free to check it out)
ADO Bus tickets can be purchased in Belize at the main bus terminal (ask around or search for the very small sign tucked away in a corner)

The images and videos below are all of the beautiful ADO bus terminal in Cancun:

Bathrooms are not free!! They are $5.00 pesos

If you will be in Cancun for a long period of time in transit you can pay $28.00 pesos a hour to leave your luggage above.

ADO buses are amazingly comfortable and if your on a budget the best way to travel.
